Halloween Craft Night is Tuesday October 5th at my house. When do you think we should start? 7 or 8? I can do either. Let me know what you prefer. Also PLEASE let me know by Sunday if you are planning on coming. I need to know how much paint and vinyl and other supplies I need to get. Bring a treat to share if you want.
The crafts have been decided. The lovely Elisha Johnson is going to let us borrow her cricut so we can make these:
Here is how it is going to work:
You can either bring your own wood and Halloween paper and 2 dollars (for the other supplies) or just bring 5 dollars and we have the wood, paper and other supplies you need. You will be able to cut out whatever words you want. I think a "Trick or Treat" block would be cute.
We are also going to do Silhouettes from Martha Stewart. All you need to bring is black card stock or construction paper or 2 dollars. I will have these templates.
Black Cats:
Mice:
Raven:
Won't they look cute taped on your base boards?
You can also paint some eyeballs. I don't have a picture but if you want to do them all you need to get is some Styrofoam balls from Hobby Lobby. They HAVE to be the smooth kind or it won't work. You can get any size you want. They are a lot cooler the bigger they are but 2 large ones are over 5 bucks. So be sure to print the 40% off coupon online.
If you need directions or have questions please email me at sisterchicks14@gmail.com

PlayGroup Info
Hello again ladies! There are a few new names on our list this week so I want to welcome all new people and invite everyone to another fun-filled playgroup! We will be meeting for at least 2 more weeks at the park on Navarro and Degray on Wednesday mornings at 10:30. In October I will be turning this back over to Mary Lampros for a while and she may plan a few fieldtrips as well as be asking some of us to host playgroup at our homes when the weather is too cold to go to the park. It has been a lot of fun meeting new people and visiting with all of you each week. Thanks everyone for coming! Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it this Wednesday but I will see you all next week.

Your Discards Can Give Hope to a Little Boy
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good morning Sisters!
I know it's really late to ask, but I need your help in getting the word out. I have a sweet little nephew, Jackson, who has struggled with autism but has been blessed with incredible parents who would do anything for him. Since he was diagnosed about six years ago they have sacrificed everything to get him the proper therapies and treatments to pull him out of the autism trap. He has excelled and now has the unique opportunity to go to a special charter school where his parents hope that he'll continue to improve. My brother-in-law has been out of work for the last seven months and they have just barely been making it. They are so excited for Jackson, but are now scrambling to find money so they can afford the uniforms, transportation and fees for him to attend. They are having a yard sale tomorrow (9-18-10) and are looking for donations from family and friends, as well as advertisement for their yard sale. We will be donating some things and I thought I'd ask if there was anyone in the ward that had anything they were looking to get rid of. We'd be happy to take it off their hands! We will be taking stuff down to them tonight and possibly early tomorrow morning. They can drop items off at my house or contact me and I'd be happy to pick them up. My address is 4298 Degray Dr. and my number is 801-706-4778. Also, if anyone would like to go to the yard sale it will be held at 1684 North 280 West, Orem. Adam and Annie are the sweetest people and appreciate every little miracle. This could be just one more miracle for them. Thanks in advance for your help!!

5k volunteers needed this Saturday!!!
Sisters -
On September 18th LiveDaybreak (the community council) will be having a 5k/Fun Run Walk benefitting Operation Kids Foundation for Autism to raise money for scholarships for treatment for local families based on financial need. And there is a huge need. There will also be a University of Utah-sponsored health fair that will also raise education and awareness for Autism, as well as a FizzFest with kids activities, live concert on the grass on SoDa Row.
This is a great cause - and we desperately need help, a little or a lot, in organizing this event and in raising sponsorships from local businesses, etc. We also need volunteers to help the day of with the race around the lake, finish line, etc. How fun would that be! If you would like to get involved to help make this event successful, or even to learn more about autism spectrum disorder, please let me know. I would be so grateful!

The Hunger Games Trilogy
Now is your chance to discuss The Hunger Games Trilogy. Michele and Marcie are getting a group together at Tios on September 17th at 7pm to discuss Book1: The Hunger Games, Book2: Catching Fire and Book3: Mockingjay.
Haven't read the books? Well, read them quick! It will be worth your time. If I can put my two cents in, I would have to say they are some the best books I've ever read.
