Pasta Salad and more!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Baby Shower last Saturday. It was a huge success!
It was so great to be together and get to know each other better.

Some things I learned: If you are 8 1/2 months pregnant you are likely to spill red punch on carpet. And if you do, you should spray the stain with hair spray then rub it with a wet bar of soap. Then just wipe it up!! (Thanks for that tip Joyce!)

The best soap to use for stains on clothing is Fels-Naptha Laundry Bar Soap (Thanks Debbye for that tip. She said you can pick it up at Smiths)

Also, A little competition makes for a lot of laughter.

Last but not least, as women we have a great ability to provide each other with the support system we need! You all ROCK!

Here is the recipe for the Pasta Salad:
Mix together:
1 pound cooked crumbled bacon
chopped green onions (however much you like)
8oz. shredded swiss cheese
1 package cooked pasta (I use bow tie or fussilli)
Dressing:
1 1/2 cup mayo or miracle whip
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
Combine all ingredients and enjoy!

Girl's Night Out

From Laura Walker:

Let's do a Girl's Night Out!
We are trying to shoot for the first Friday night of each month. In April, however, we will be going for the second Friday (April 9th) since the first Friday is on Easter/Conference weekend. Mark it on your calendar if you want to join us!
Take a second to vote on what you want to do for the activity.
Also- there has been some interest expressed in the upcoming Twilight movie (!). We may just have to hit that in June! More details to follow!

EASTER EGG HUNTS

Looking for something to do with the Family next weekend? (In addition to watching conference, of course)
Here's some fun ideas:

*South Jordan's annual Easter Egg and Candy Scramble is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, April 3.

Participants are asked to meet at the south end of South Jordan City Park, 11010 S. Redwood Road. The event is free, and the Easter Bunny and Miss South Jordan will be in attendance.

A fire Engine horn will start the scramble.

* Thanksgiving Point Easter Eggstreme

April 3, 2010
10 am - 3 pm

at Thanksgiving Point Electric Park

admission (you can buy tickets online but they charge an outrageous "handleing fee" so I would just go into the box office at the EMPORIUM and get them. Or pay a few bucks more on the day of the event.

$6/child ($8 week-of event)
$3/adult

Get your punch pass for Utah's largest Easter Egg hunt! Event takes place rain or shine (or snow). Festive Easter eggs are scattered throughout Electric Park, but that’s not all there is to do. The Easter bunny himself will make an apperance, as well as loads of fun activities for egg hunters of all ages.

Some activities include:
• Bean Bag Toss
• Ring Toss
• Kiddy Train
• Egg Hunts
• Easter Crafts
• Balloon Tying
• Easter Relay Races
• Face Painting

Egg Hunt Schedule:
• 11 am (0-3 years)
• 11:30 am (4-6 years)
• 12 noon (7-9 years)
• 12:30 pm (10-12 years)
• 1 pm (open hunt: all ages)

Playgroups!

From Mary Lampros

Hey ladies, now that outside has thawed and kids are out on the sidewalks again, let's get playgroup started back up! Mindie Butterfield and I are happy to help organize but would love any help or suggestions on where to go, what to do, how often you want to meet, what time is best for you, etc. (Just leave your comment) Since the weather is nice enough, why don't we meet this Friday at the big park by the lake at 10:30am (the one with playground equipment, basketball, beach, etc.)? We'd love to see you and your little ones there!

Get rid of Clutter!

Great idea gals! I want to remind anyone out there that has CLUTTER (if you don't think you do, you are kidding yourself! LOL!) that there is an AWESOME opportunity for spring cleaning coming our way on THIS SATURDAY.

The SLC ORganizers group (of which I am a member) is holding a FREE, FREE, FREE (yes, that's right) event at the Ikea in Draper from 11:00 -3 pm.

This means you can get rid of all kinds of stuff from broken junk (so you don't have to pay and haul it to the dump) and good stuff you just don't need taking up your valuable time, space and energy!

Read all the details of what kinds of stuff we can get rid of for you at
http://utahorganizersgroup.com/
Just click on events.

The hardest stuff to get rid of is hazardous waste and electronic stuff. We'll have folks there for BOTH!!!

Don't miss this!

Need more info call me!

Card Group

Our first group idea is from Elisha Johnson:

I am thinking of starting a card group. Who would be interested in coming?

Here are the rough details:

You would be given a theme of your card per month
You make X amounts of the same card with that theme (X=the # of people in group)
Come once a month to my house (tuesday, wednesday, or thursday 7:00pm)(which is best for you?)
Bring $5-$10(amount to be determined)
Bring a snack to share
Make 3-5 projects
Vote for best card (prize awarded)
door prize
Go home with X amounts of different cards and 3-5 projects

You must commit to 6 months at a time. If you can't come you must get your cards to me or someone else or bring two sets the following month. Visit and enjoy others company and Get creative!!!! Time away. FUN!!!

Get friends and family to come along. If I have enough I could do two different days. Let me know what day would be best for you and how many would like to join. We would start in July!

The mighty oak was once a little nut that stood it's ground!
-Elisha
Leave a comment if you are interested in joining this group. Once we get enough people we'll work out the details! Thanks!
