Daybreak needs you!

Have you ever asked yourself, what are the Daybreak Pillars? What events are going on later this year? How can I get involved? What the heck are D.R.I.V.E. points?

If you are interested in learning about these things or how to become a volunteer in one of the Daybreak Committees, drop by the mixer tonight (Thursday April 29th) at the Information Pavilion anytime from 6-8. Learn about upcoming events for this year and about the committee chairs. Also, enjoy some yummy catered foods.

I hope to see you there!

PS Everyone should of gotten an email from Daybreak about this. If you didn't, please check you spam inbox and make sure your emails aren't going in there. If you still don't get it, email Ruth Vest at rvest@ccmcnet.com

Play Group this Friday

For playgroup this week we have an appointment at the fun Gale Center in South Jordan on Friday (23rd) at 10:30. It's a place where kids can learn about the history of our town, and there are displays such as an old-fashioned schoolhouse, grocery store, farmhouse, etc. Let me just warn you that sometimes the people who work there can be pretty, uh...not-so-understanding-of-kids'-desires-to-touch-everything, so just keep close to your kids and follow the rules and we'll be fine. I promise it's worth the effort. Let's try to be on time (hard, I know!) since they'll start the "tour" at 10:30 and we have an hour. I hope I haven't scared you off. Please come, your kids will love it!

Looking ahead: We're thinking every other week for playgroup so that we have good attendance, and one local, one field trip a month. At our little planning meeting we also thought it would be nice to just have a backup in place beforehand for the outdoor venues so that if the weather doesn't cooperate, you'll know where to go.

If you are not receiving emails directly from me and would like to get the updates about playgroup, please send me your email address: maryelampros@gmail.com.

DIRECTIONS TO THE GALE CENTER: Take 10400 S. heading east. Just past Redwood Road, turn left at the NEXT light (1540 W., 1575 W., Beckstead Lane--not sure which of these appear on the street sign). It's the same street that in the opposite direction would take you to the library. Anyway, head down a block and the road empties into the Gale Center parking lot, 10300 S. Beckstead Lane.

Daybreak Resident Bake Sale

I am the new Connecting Committee Chair for Daybreak. We are having a bake sale at The Garden Affair. It is on Saturday April 24th from 8am to Noon at the Daybreak Community Center. This is going to be such a cool event. I will post more about it later.

I need help! If anyone can donate some homemade baked goods (ya know, cookies, brownies, muffins, etc.) please let me know. You can email me at cami.johnston@gmail.com, or sisterchick14@gmail.com, or leave a comment. All money made will be donated to our sister city in Africa.

If you know anyone else in Daybreak who might be able to help, please give them my email address (or theirs to mine, whichever). I haven't lived here too long so I pretty much only know people in our ward. So please help me spread the word.

We also need volunteers for that day to help sell the baked goods that day!
Thanks,
Cami Johnston
