Playgroup 6/1/11

Hello again everyone!

If the weathermen are right, the weather is supposed to be pretty good this Wednesday so how about we meet for playgroup at the park on Navarro and Degray? I'm thinking 11:00 am is probably the best time since the later we wait in the day the warmer it should be. Hope to see you all there!

Christmas in MAY????? (FEELS LIKE IT SOMETIMES!)

Christmas once again has started at our home. We are starting to get our committee together for this years Festival of Trees.
Joining the commitee is easy and starting this year whatever you can donate will be greatly appreciated and get your name on the committee list. What do we do on the commitee
well we help our board member in anyway possible. She has 80 gifts she has to donate to the gift boutique, she has small fry felt gifts to make,
a committee gift to do, and vollunteer hours to fill. You do not have to help with everything if all you can do is gifts thats fine anything is appreciated.
If you can help in anyway please get hold of Summer Jones (801) 446-5539.

Tree Doctors Needed?

On Coralville way and Enid Drive we have some trees in the park strip that are in tough shape. We contacted a tree specialist and he is treating many of our trees. He does a deep root fertilization with organic materials. The cost is just $11 a tree or $32 for three trees. He suggests treatment twice a year for a few years to help the trees get a good start and remain healthy and strong. Many people do not realize that although the trees are in the park strip the homeowners are responsible to keep them alive and well. If the trees need to be replaced the homeowner is responsible for the cost of replacement. Kennecott Land and the Daybreak Association need to pass on this information concerning the trees to make sure home owners understand their responsibility. The cost of caring for the trees is much less expensive than the cost to replace trees.

If you are needing this type of service or are concerned with the health of your trees, please contact Corey Draper @ CoreyDraper@mac.com or text him at 801.599.8578. Feel free to call Laura Padro or Marci Rechtenbach with other questions.

Play Group Time

Hello again everyone!

I'm thinking maybe we can start doing playgroup at the park again since the weather is getting better (and hopefully this nice weather is here to stay!!!). How about this Friday at the park on Navarro and Degray? (Sorry for the late notice!) I'm thinking we could meet around 11:00 since the later we wait hopefully the warmer it will be. In the future I hope we can pick a day that works for most of you and meet at the same park, same time and day each week so that people can just plan on it. Let me know what day works best for you and if you would prefer meeting at a different park or at a different time. I think last summer we met on Wednesdays, but we could try Fridays if that is better for the majority (or any other day too!)

Also, if you want to invite someone new or let me know if there are people who haven't been included in this email who might be interested please let me know. The more the merrier! Hope to see you all on Friday!

What will YOU do when you can't get to a Doctor in an Emergency???

Emergency Preparedness is more than Food Storage and 72 hour kits. Emergencies come unexpectedly and bring health and injury concerns with them. When you can't get to a doctor or hospital and need medical help - what will YOU do?

Deborah Anne White is teaching a class this Thursday to answer some of those questions.

Emergency Preparedness
using Essential Oils

Thursday, May 19th
7 p.m.
4364 Degray Drive

(Avocado House next to 10889 on Topview)

Advantages of Essential Oils in Emergency Storage:
1. They never expire
2. They store indefinitely
3. They do the work of most OTC and prescription meds in an emergency
4. They are affordable and easy to use
