Daybreak Autumn Gala

Daybreak Autumn Gala
November 6th 5:30-10:30
Soda Row

Get all dolled up and come enjoy and evening of of shopping, eating, dancing, and being entertained! All ticket sales and silent auction proceeds go to benefit the Daybreak to Debre Zeit program. Debre Zeit is a village in Ethiopia. If we sell out this event and raise enough money at the silent auction we will be able to build the residents of Debre Zeit a school/community center.

So come help out a good cause! Ticket prices are $75 a couple and $40 for individual tickets. Head on down to the DCC and purchase your tickets! Did I mention the catered dinner? Or the live band? Or the photo booth from ShutterBooth?

We are still looking for silent auction donations. So if you have or know of anyone or business who can donate goods, products or services let me know by emailing me.
Also, if you have any questions about the event be sure to ask! cami.johnston@gmail.com

Opportunity to Serve

From Laura Padro:
Ruth Maynes and her husband are serving an inner-city mission downtown. They are working with refugee families. They come in from many countries and come with virtually nothing.
The agency that brings them in and helps get them started has a restricted budget. (Due to the recession it's extremely limited.) Ruth says these people need everything clothing, household goods, bedding, etc. She says even though a family may have six members, they ares sometimes given only two knives, forks and spoons.

If you have clothing, dishes, bedding, towels, etc (books, games, toys as well) that you are not using and can donate, please drop them off to Ruth or call her. Any help is appreciated. Also, gift certificates are helpful. During the last holiday season someone gave Ruth gift certificates to Smiths, Target and Old Navy. Ruth says even $5 gift certificates are truly a blessing to these families. She said families are coming in from Sudan. They are not used to the cold temperature so warm clothing/bedding is needed. Please look in your closets, cupboards and drawers and share what you don't want or need.

E-mail sisterchicks14@gmail.com for Ruth's Address and phone number

From Mary Lampros:

Hi ladies, my sister is flying into town from Florida for our brother's wedding this week, and she's bringing her baby. It would save her 50 bucks if she didn't have to check his car seat. Is there anyone who has an infant car seat (rear facing) you're not using that we could borrow for a few days? I could pick it up from you on Wednesday and have it back to you by the next Monday.

Also, I'm looking to sell a black desk for $40. If you're interested, come on over and look at it! It's in great condition, was only used for a year or so.

Thanks!
